The best innovation the ringtone industry has done is allow users to create their own ringtone from pre-existing songs. I think that is their best innovation so far. What I do is get my favorite song for the week and make it as my personalized tone by cutting the song on the particular verse that I like. Isn't that amazing? Before, you can only buy prefabricated ringtones. Now you can make your own.
There are some ridiculous offers online which will tell you that they offer free MP3 tones. The problem with these offers is that they will only give you 2 weeks to a month free use of the ringtone. After this promo period, you will have to pay for the ringtone if you want to continue to use it. You will have to subscribe and pay for the subscription on a weekly or monthly basis. I think reading the fine print is the key to this problem. If we only read the fine print before getting those free ringtones then we wouldn't have the problem of getting an extra $10 charge on our bill.
